Congratulations on your election or appointment to an AOTA leadership position!

Before officially beginning your term of office, there are a few required steps to complete. Please review the information below carefully to ensure that all requirements are fulfilled promptly.

Step 1: Read/review the following governance documents:

• Bylaws
• AOTA Policy Manual Required Policies to Review:
  • Policy A.7 – Censure (page 8)
  • Policy A.8 – Removal & Appeal (page 9)
  • Policy A.9 – Social media Posting Guidelines for Volunteers (page 10)
  • Policy A.13 – Conflict of Interest (page 15)
  • Policy A.28 – Consent to Serve (page 32)
• Code of Ethics
• Administrative SOPs  
• Volunteer Leadership Development Committee (VLDC) SOP Attachment C – Statement on Neutrality
• AOTA Governance Chart

Step 2: Complete the following forms before June 30, 2025:

• Consent to Serve  

•  Conflict of Interest - 2026
• form is required for all active volunteers serving on a volunteer group.
  • A new form must be completed annually during your term.
  • You must also submit an updated form if your conflict status changes at any point during the year.
• Confidentiality Agreement
• Volunteer Roster 2026
